Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme (HTAS)

Scheme overview
Competing at the highest level in any sport is an expensive business. Travel, equipment, training, coaching and physiotherapy – the costs soon add up. Hampshire County Council’s Recreation & Heritage and Children Services Departments, in partnership with Southampton City Council and Portsmouth City Council have developed the Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme - an athlete-centred support programme designed to give Hampshire’s most gifted athletes access to as much support as possible to help them reach their full potential.

HTAS is the first programme of its kind in the country.  It works at three award levels, Gold, Silver and Bronze, each providing varying levels of support.  Award levels are determined by specific performance standards. An overview is available HERE

Applications to the Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme are open on an annual basis. Successful applicants then become a member of the scheme for 12 months.

The 2009 Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme is now open for applications. The deadline for submission is Friday 17th October 2008.
